# Connect Cheerful to Claude and ChatGPT

## What you can ask it

Once connected, ask a question just as you would in a normal conversation. For example:

- “Who replied to my campaigns yesterday?”
- “Show me my creator lists.”
- “Which creators have posted for my campaigns?”

Start with “Who am I in Cheerful?” to check that the right account is connected. This check is free and does not change anything.

## Your account and permissions

You sign in to your own Cheerful account during setup. Your assistant can access the same work you can, including work shared with you by your team. Connecting an app does not give it extra permissions.

Some actions can change your data, such as saving creators to a list or updating a campaign draft. Review your assistant’s access and approval settings before using those actions.

## The tools

A tool is an action your assistant can ask Cheerful to perform. You can ask in everyday language; you do not need to learn the tool names.

Checking your connection is free. Creator searches use Cheerful credits and can take about a minute. Some campaign actions are still rolling out and may not appear on every account. See the [full list of actions, costs and limits](/docs/mcp/tools).

## The server URL

If your app asks for an MCP server URL, use this one. MCP is the connection method your assistant uses to talk to Cheerful.

Your app will open a Cheerful sign-in page. You do not need an API key.

## Frequently asked questions

**Do I need to install anything?**

For Claude and ChatGPT in your browser, no. Follow the guide for your app, paste the server URL and sign in to Cheerful.

**Why can I not add a connector?**

Your app’s plan and workspace rules control this option. Claude Free allows one custom connector. On a work account, ask your workspace owner or administrator whether custom connectors are enabled.
