Creators who connected Instagram via Cheerful Creator Connect
If you connected your Instagram Business account to a brand using Cheerful and you want to disconnect and delete your data, you have three options.
Option 1 — Disconnect from Facebook Business Integrations
- Go to facebook.com/settings?tab=business_tools.
- Find "Cheerful Creator Connect" in the list.
- Click "View and edit" → "Remove".
Facebook will send Cheerful a deauthorization signal. We will revoke the OAuth tokens associated with your account within 24 hours and delete cached metric data within 30 days, unless retention is required by law or by an express agreement between you and the brand you authorized.
Option 2 — Email us
Send an email to chris@cheerful.ai from the email address tied to your Instagram account or with enough information to identify you (Instagram handle, the brand you authorized, approximate date of authorization). Use the subject line "Data Deletion Request."
We will:
- Confirm receipt within 2 business days.
- Verify the request and revoke the connection.
- Delete OAuth tokens immediately and cached metric data within 30 days.
- Send a confirmation email when deletion is complete.
Option 3 — Use the in-product disconnect
If the brand you authorized invited you to a creator portal, you can sign in there and click "Disconnect Instagram" on your profile page. This triggers the same deletion flow as Option 1.
Brand and agency users
To delete your Cheerful account and the data associated with it, sign in to app.cheerful.ai and use the "Delete account" option in your settings, or email chris@cheerful.ai from the email on your account.
We will permanently delete account data within 30 days of verification. Backups are purged on our standard backup rotation, no longer than 90 days. Anonymized aggregate data that cannot be linked back to you may be retained for analytics.
What gets deleted
- OAuth tokens for connected platforms.
- Profile information we received from the platform (Instagram username, account ID, follower count, profile picture URL).
- Cached insights metrics (impressions, reach, plays, saves, demographics).
- Audit log entries that reference the deleted account.
What we may retain (and why)
- Records of consent and revocation, for the period required by applicable law, so we can demonstrate compliance.
- Financial records relating to paid subscriptions, as required by tax and accounting laws.
- Information necessary to defend or pursue legal claims.
Confirmation status
When Meta sends Cheerful a data deletion callback, we generate a confirmation code that Meta uses to display status to the user. If you have a confirmation code and want to check status, email chris@cheerful.ai with the code.
